I know it’s always Angela who does the foodie blogging. But she urged me to blog about the holiday bread-making myself, so I shall.
One of the most relaxing aspects of a break from church work is the opportunity to have time to cook. And I do love baking bread – not with a machine, but the simplicity of doing it by hand; kneading, proving, knocking back and so on. So I’ve made a couple of sundried tomato loaves, and they came out rather well. Here’s one of them, sliced so you can see the texture.
It’s a really nice flavour – savoury, and goes really well with cheese. It’s an ordinary bread dough, with some of the oil from a jar of sundried tomatoes used as the oil. And a bit of tomato paste – or even ketchup – to give the bread that slightly pink tinge. Give it a go!

Hi, Pastor Bob! Decided that as one of your wife's biggest virtual fans, I should pop over to your space as well! I once met another holy man who spent his spare time making bread, had in fact gone on a bread making course. Seems highly appropriate for one who shares the bread of life!
