Get yourself connected

Thought I would post some details of the work we’ve been doing on the platform area at Church. We wanted to clear some space – so we’ve removed the remaining Choir pew, together with the panel that went in front. We’ve levelled the platform – the rear part of it – and we’re in the process of locating power and audio connection points in floorboxes around this new area.

Two bits of work needed doing. The monitor mixes needed to be split – I’ve built a small box to do just that:

And the floorboxes needed plates making with XLR connectors on them:

The large holes – for the XLR connectors and the cable outlet grommets – were all cut with Q-max hole punches

Qmax

A wonderful piece of kit which cuts beautifully clean holes in sheet metal. And it’s had to work hard – cutting 36 24mm holes for XLR connectors. Unfortunately, although the joiner who did the work on the platform has done a beautiful job – check out his website here – the same can not be said for the electricians, who shall remain nameless, but who have bodged and mangled there way through the last few days. Hope we can sort it all out before the folk come to cover it with carpet!

Hi Rev Bob
We've not met, but KMFC I still consider to be my 'home' church. My family and I were members from the early 70's to - well I was last there in about '96. So pleased to see your post - I remember, with some pain, the efforts to introduce different styles of worship, and the sacrosant nature of the choir stalls. In fact I seem to remember several debates around the theology of the colour for the walls!
Now living in Sydney, Australia. Please pass on my greetings and best wishes to all!
Rob
